How to work the fashion trend folds
If your memories of pleated skirts you back to the horror of school uniforms and gymslips then it is time to correct. Pleats are back in fashion for summer 2011 and spring they are certainly nothing to do with the frumpy styles you have been forced to wear as a child! This is a trend very easy to carry, ideal for incorporation into outfits daywear or office, but very distinguished and elegant for evenings too. One thing you will notice though is that all styles are used for the entire circumference of the garment – a single pleat at the front or back of the skirt is not fashionable.

Sunray pleats are clean, tight folds that radiate outward like the rays of the sun at the edge of the garment where it becomes more complete. They are usually used on light fabrics like chiffon and soft to give movement and flexible rather than stiff.
